Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Behaviour that Challenges (RQF)

Course Description – Our Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Behaviour that Challenges (RQF)is designed to develop learners’ knowledge of behaviour that challenges and its effects.


It is ideal for those currently working within either adult or children’s services, or those wishing to embark on a new career supporting and caring for people in crisis. 


Additionally, for those looking to broaden their expertise in Health and Social Care at the same level, we offer specialised qualifications including:

- Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Distressed Behaviour in Children

- Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Autism

Course Duration – This course can be completed in as little as 12 weeks, up to a maximum of 12 months. As this is an online course, you can study at your own pace and according to your preferences. 


Topics covered 

· Understand how to recognise that an individual’s behaviour has the potential to intensify.

· Understand legislation and support relevant to behaviour that challenges

· Understand how to prepare to manage an incident of behaviour that challenges.

· Understand how to manage a situation when an individual is acting in a challenging manner. 

· Understand own role in providing support following an incident of challenging behaviour.
 

Entry Requirements – There are no specific entry requirements, however, learners should have a minimum of Level 1 in literacy and numeracy or equivalent in order to engage appropriately with the teaching content and the assessment requirements. 

 
The recommended minimum age for this qualification is 16 years. 


Assessments – Our Level 2 Award in Understanding Behaviour that Challenges (RQF) qualification is entirely coursework-based, with no exams.  

Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Distressed Behaviour in Children (RQF)

Course Description – Our Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Distressed Behaviour in Children is designed  to develop learners' knowledge of distressed behaviour in children. 


Learners will gain a general awareness of the causes of distressed behaviour along with an understanding of appropriate ways to support a child displaying distressed behaviour. 


Furthermore, learners will consider how other conditions can play a role in distressed behaviour being displayed by a child. 


Finally, learners will gain an understanding of how current legislation underpins approaches to providing support for a child who displays distressed behaviour

 

Course Duration – This course can be completed in as little as 4 months, up to a maximum of 12 months. As this is an online course, you can study at your own pace and according to your preferences.


Topics covered 


The topics studied on this course include:


 · Awareness of distressed behaviour in children

· Principles of intervention when working with children who display distressed behaviour 

· Distressed behaviour and mental health in children 

· Distressed behaviour and learning disabilities in children 

· Distressed behaviour, sensory processing conditions and autism spectrum conditions in children 

· Legislation and guidance for an individual providing support to children displaying distressed behaviour

Level 2 Certificate in Mental Health First Aid & Wellbeing Advocacy

  

Course Description – Our Level 2 Level 2 Certificate in Mental Health First Aid and Well-being Advocacy provides learners with the knowledge to support those with mental health conditions and the knowledge to carry out the role of mental health first aider. 


This qualification can support the upskilling needs of individuals in job roles and safeguarding responsibilities for example: 

• HR professionals 

• Religious leaders 

• Safeguarding leads 

• Community leaders 

• Line managers

• Prison officers 

• Health and Social Care professionals
 

Course Duration – This course can be completed in as little as 4 months, up to a maximum of 12 months. As this is an online course, you can study at your own pace and according to your preferences.


Topics covered 

The topics studied on this course include:

· Understanding Mental Health and Well-being 

· Stigma and stereotypes that individuals with mental ill-health may face

· Safeguarding individuals who may experience mental ill-health 

· The role and responsibilities of a mental health first aider

Assessments – Our Level 2 Certificate in in Mental Health First Aid and Well-being Advocacy qualification is entirely coursework-based, with no exams. 

Successful learners will also receive a Mental Health First Aider badge.
